here at The Outpost. Sun is shining - it's at least 35 degrees outside, and I just sent both boys with loaded cap guns over to fire off several rolls in front of Nana and Bup's house.
I feel so warm and fuzzy inside.

Read this and had a little chuckle to myself.

Posted by: Cathy at December 12, 2006 08:44 AMMake sure they enjoy it. You could be living in Saint Paul, the City Where Absolutely Nothing is Allowed.
Yes, cap guns are considered dangerous weapons around here. And only a lunatic would allow her kids play with them. Clearly, Child Protective Services ought to be called, at once.
Lucky little devils.

Posted by: Jeff at December 13, 2006 08:11 PMCap pistols are small arms. Check out carbide cannons at cannons@cannon-mania.com. The Senator and Governor could make excellent use of one of these cannons, which have been around since the 1920s. They operate by dissolving carbide powder in water to produce acetylene gas that's ignited using a spark plug. Several are offered, from the 1929 Light Field Gun to the 1958 Major Field Cannon, which features auto-loading. This is my hint for Santa's order of battle, 2007. They not only are noisy but also educational, letting the boys demonstrate the "big bang" theory of creation.
Posted by: Professor` at December 13, 2006 09:31 PMJust keep them out with the rest of the caps and the issue is gone
