One Of Those Fabled Joys Of Parenting

Just when you're ready to ship them off to boarding school, they do something so precious that you're heart just melts. Like Friday afternoon, when The Governor yelled from the bathroom

Hey Mom! You gotta come check out this! I wish it had corn in it like yesterday.
I don't think I've felt that sick to my stomach since the infamous Night of the Danish Aquavit/Dammel Dansk when I threw up in the dog dish.

Corn is nothing. You really want to amaze him? Try feeding him something with a lot of food coloring.

When my three oldest were still in diapers, we had a big round cookie cake made up to look like the Cookie Monster. There must have been more blue colored icing on that thing than there was cookie. We had some pretty interesting diapers over the next couple of days.

It has the same effect on adults, too.

cost of coming back home for a visit in november...
gas- who knows??
lodging- $0.00 (unless you can put a dollar value on your dog playing the fart game)
food- $28.00 (i counted beer in that)
bringing home plenty of aquavit and Gammel dansk for the neighborhood and our favorite blogger in law.....PRICELESS!!!
