I Thought White Wasn't Allowed After Labor Day

I may have to openly apologize to all the weather goons here soon.

Nowhere near the 12-16 inches predicted...but it shows no signs of abating.

Nothin' much to do around here today except read blogs and wait for Andy to start complaining ("Feck, feck, feck!") about the weather. Good thing he's married to a native.

Odd thought; snow is like socialism - pretty at a distance, but d----d unpleasant up close.

Admittedly, I may be prejudiced. Snow around here is generally a harbinger of ice on the roads. Here in Texas the ice storms give us smooth, slick ice over every surface (what I've heard referred to as 'black ice') - driving is purt near impossible. Having slipped and slid my way home more than a couple of times (very slowly, I might add), I pay close attention to winter weather reports.

Hope you're not homebound by the weather.

Thanks to Cathy & the Senator!! Our sweet dil and handsome gs appeared at our door this afternoon with shovels in hand. What a treat to sit inside reading the Sunday paper with all that hard work & fun (we could hear the giggles) going on just outside our door. I thought about joining you, but the paper and steaming cup of tea kept me indoors. Love and thanks to you both. Nana

Black ice is a favorite up here. The exhaust freezes on the road and voila! You change your tires for skate blades and you're home in no time.

Rather scary.

Yes, I was stuck at home today. Had to skip my evening soccer game, but it felt a bit like a holiday rather than an ordinary Sunday that way.

No complaints. Tomorrow, however, will be another story if I'm trapped with the boys all day inside!

If the pretty people on TV are predicting over a foot of snow there probably won't be enough to shovel. Now if they are predicting flurries or a dusting watch out.
